As I am composing and writing this blog article, Pokémon Go is releasing Sinnoh Pokémon on the roads. Now, I really like the different productions for a reason or the other but Generation 4 seems to have a unique spot in my heart because was when I got back into Pokémon following a long hiatus. In particular, Pokémon Platinum ranks as among my favourite Pokémon games as they took Diamond and Pearl and enhanced everything about these games making a top notch classic.

But we’re here to ascertain which ones are the best for a Monotype (or Single Form ) Run that’s a run in which you only catch and train 1 type of Pokémon. And unfortunately, the Sinnoh matches are either hit or miss. Although more Pokémon have been released, Diamond and Pearl only have 150 Pokémon available so that you get some fairly average runs. Platinum thankfully adds 60 more Pokémon into Sinnoh that produces a good deal of types doable or magnificent.

I’ve written previous articles on Monotype Run so check out those. However, for people who are unfamiliar here are the rules.

  1. Only Pokémon of a specific type could be captured and trained.
  2. You need to grab the very first Pokémon available of this kind if your newcomer doesn’t fit that kind (you’ll then need to discount that starter).
  3. You will instruct a Pokémon that evolves to stated type as long as you get it done ASAP.
  4. No trading enabled
  5. Just Pokémon caught before Elite Four have been counted.

Without further ado, let us take a look! A listing of full team combinations can be seen below too.

The Very Greatest Types

Beginning with the top tier I’d state that the Water, Poison, Regular , Psychic, Steel, and Fighting forms are types that you should go for because of their commonality, premature availability and kind coverage. This is the first time in the series where Poison can defend itself from Psychic attacks thanks to both Drapion and Stuntank and if you have Roserade, Toxicroak, Crobat, and Tentacruel financing up you you’re in for a fantastic moment. Struggling types meanwhile possess a near consistent occurrence-rate since you have Chimchar as your starter and then afterwards you have Medicham, Toxicroak, and, obviously, Lucario. Water is splendid as normal but this run is exceptional as you have Empoleon who is incredibly rare and amazing. Empoleon’s presence also makes the Sinnoh games a hidden gem for a metal group, certainly do not miss it .

Meanwhile, Platinum enriches these types further and create Ground and Flying kinds entertaining…thanks tooooo Gliscor! Gliscor’s amazing type combo enhances both of these types and come-on, it is Gliscor, they’re the very best. You also can train a Mamoswine for Earth and also a Togekiss and Yanmega for Flying.

The Worst Forms

Like routine, Dragon along with Ice are types I strongly advocate against. Despite Platinum these types suffer because of late game availability (especially Ice), limited selections, and inadequate coverage. Furthermore, if you’re playing Diamond or Pearl, Fire along with Electric are pretty abysmal. It’s true that you can capture both types early on however there are barely any of these. Platinum improves their diversity and makes them doable but it will definitely not be a walk at the park. Dark forms are also rather gloomy if a enjoying Pearl or Platinum since they’re accessible mid-game in the best and there is a lackluster motto. Fortunately, in Diamond, you can grab a Murkrow in Eterna Forest after the first gym.

Spiritomb

If you already skipped ahead and looked through the list, you might have noticed Spiritomb is missing out of the Dark and Publish type lists. That’s because he is one of the hardest non-legendary Pokémon to catch. You will need to receive that the Old Keystone, that is not overly difficult, however you also need to talk to 32 people in the underground. They have to be real individuals also and not NPCs! Luckily, you’ll only need another person with Diamond/Pearl/Platinum to do it. However, as you need an additional copy of the game to be able to get Spiritomb this technically disqualifies Spiritomb according to our principles. But Dark kind still has impartial coverage thanks to Drapion.
